Reviewing rejected topics
Topics can be rejected for a number of reasons:
Duplicated: matches an existing page or matches an existing new candidate pageAlready ranks: matches keywords the site already ranks for (or similar ones)Insufficient products: the site doesn’t have enough products or listingsIrrelevant products: products don’t mention the topic enoughLow demand: has too little monthly search volume for the local marketManual: a user has rejected the topic manually e.g. from the “Waiting for approval” tab
The Bad grammar and Low quality reject reasons can be ignored as they have been rendered obsolete by newer functionality.
You may find that there are rejected topics you would still like to publish as pages, so it can be helpful to look through these. It may also be a shock to realise how many otherwise great topics are being rejected because a product page ranks badly for a similar keyword, or because the topic lacks the required average monthly search volume yet is very close. This may inspire you to change the settings slightly and move these topics back to pending, then rerun the New Pages agent.
