Topics
The Topics view shows generated topics sorted into different tabs. Initially all generated topics come into the Pending tab and as these are refreshed they get sorted into the Rejected tab and the Waiting for Approval tab. Users can manually approve these and then publish them, although it's also possible to set this up to be automatically approved and published. Occasionally, topics that have failed certain jobs will appear in the Failed tab.
You can filter topics by a number of other means:
Different tabs may show different ways to filter. The above image is from the rejected tab, which is why the reject reason is shown.
In each tab it's possible to select one or more topics and move them to the tab before or after. For instance, in the Rejected tab you can move topics to Pending or Waiting for Approval manually. However, this should be used sparingly since New Pages is designed to automate this process.
In each tab, you can export selected topics or all topics. In each tab, you can add tags to selected topics or to all topics. Tags can be very useful for working on one group of topics at a time. By default, when you import a topic export, the New Pages tool will automatically add an import tag for you, which is the ID of the agent that ran. This means that you can just filter, for instance, all of the rejected topics for that particular import and see how many of them are rejected for which reason.
What to do in each of the Topics view tabs:
- In the Pending tab, click Refresh to move topics to either Rejected or Waiting for Approval.
- In the Waiting for Approval tab, you can manually move topics back to Rejected or approve them all to send them to the Approved tab.
- In the Approved tab, you can still manually reject topics or move them back to Pending. This is useful if something has gone wrong with the process or you've recently updated settings and want to reapply them. You can also click Publish.
- Generate content for the pages before you click Publish. Use the Generate Content button to kick off the content agent before publishing. You can also use the Description filter (click the Is Empty checkbox) to find all approved topics without content.
- The content agent uses context about the page to generate relevant content. Context for these new pages will typically be the matching product listing titles and descriptions, and that will be added to a prompt which will be used to generate the
